A useful custom phone strap inquiry starts with how the accessory will be carried, not just a photograph. A wrist strap, neck lanyard and crossbody strap can serve different product ranges. For a brand or distributor, defining the format first helps avoid comparing quotations for different constructions.
1. Choose the carry format and attachment
State whether you need a short wrist loop, a longer neck strap or an adjustable crossbody design. Describe the clasp, connector and phone tether arrangement you want. If you are sourcing a tether tab, provide photographs or drawings of the intended case opening and ask for a compatibility sample. A demonstration photograph does not establish compatibility with every phone case.
2. Specify the construction and dimensions
Give the finished length, cord diameter or webbing width, and the measuring method. For a wrist loop, clarify whether the length is measured flat, around the loop or from the clasp to the end. Name the material composition if your specification requires it; do not infer it from appearance alone. Send a reference sample when the feel or braid pattern matters.
3. Prepare colours and artwork
A multi-colour braid needs a colour allocation for each strand, not just a single colour name. Supply colour references and explain where a logo should appear: on a label, connector, packaging or another agreed part. Request an artwork proof before sample approval. Display screens and printed artwork may show colours differently, so agree how the production colour will be approved.
4. Compare samples with the same checklist
Check the finished dimensions, braid consistency, connector operation, stitching where present and compatibility with the intended case. Ask the supplier which tests and acceptance criteria are appropriate for your design. Do not substitute a visual sample check for a specified performance requirement or use an unverified load claim in your own marketing.
What to include in a quotation request
- Strap format, reference model and dimension drawing.
- Quantity for each colour combination, not only the total quantity.
- Connector, tether tab and branding requirements.
- Packaging format and delivery country or postcode.
- Sample approval process and requested delivery date.
For an example, see the S-147 braided phone wrist strap. Its images show the carry format and colour combinations; final specifications and commercial terms are confirmed during quotation. Phone and case props are not part of the strap offer.
Before placing a repeat order
Keep the approved specification, artwork version and sample reference together. This makes it easier to identify exactly what must stay unchanged when you reorder or introduce a new colourway.
