Custom Dog Collars: What to Specify for an OEM Order

Build a clearer custom dog collar brief with size ranges, printed webbing, buckle details, branding, sample checks and quantities per design.

A floral pattern can attract attention, but a wholesale dog collar order also needs a clear construction brief. Retailers and pet-accessory brands should agree on size ranges, adjustment, hardware and artwork before comparing supplier quotations.

Define the size range rather than a single label

Labels such as S, M and L are not complete specifications. Provide the minimum and maximum adjustable circumference for each size, the webbing width and the measurement method. Explain the intended dog size range without assuming a decorative sample is suitable for every animal. Any functional or safety claims must be supported by the agreed specification and appropriate evidence.

Describe the webbing and print

Share the intended material composition, thickness or reference sample if these are important to your range. Identify the artwork repeat, direction and placement. A small collar may show fewer pattern repeats than a larger one, so inspect the design at each planned width and size. Check how much of the artwork remains visible near the buckle and adjustment slider.

Agree on the buckle, slider and leash attachment

Specify the buckle style, hardware finish and D-ring arrangement. A quick-release buckle describes an opening mechanism; it is not a substitute for a verified strength rating. Ask which component checks and finished-product tests can be agreed for your target market and intended use. If your brand needs a particular performance threshold, state it in the sourcing brief rather than assuming it from product images.

Separate branding from the decorative pattern

A logo may be applied to a label, buckle area, packaging or another agreed location. Send editable artwork, placement dimensions and colour references. Confirm that the design you provide is authorised for your use. If several designs share the same construction, list the quantity for each design and size combination so the quote reflects the actual assortment.

Review a production-representative sample

  • Check the adjustment range against your dimension sheet.
  • Inspect print placement, visible stitching and edge finish.
  • Check buckle operation and the agreed hardware arrangement.
  • Review labels, packaging and any required warnings.
  • Record the approved sample and artwork version.

The C-097 floral dog collar is a reference design with adjustable printed webbing, a quick-release buckle and a metal D-ring. Final materials, dimensions and testing requirements should be confirmed for your order.

Send a complete inquiry

Include quantities by size and design, branding requirements, packaging, delivery destination and your sample approval process. Ask for MOQ, sample arrangements, production lead time and pricing against the same specification. This helps you compare quotations on a like-for-like basis.
